Looking for a hip but affordable dinner in Lisbon? The Decadente is the place to spoil yourself!
The Decadente is the restaurant and bar of the fashionable hostel The Independente in the popular Barrio Alto neighbourhood. Often hostels are known to be a very cheap eat and maybe a bit basic or shabby even. But here you may expect full on design and decadence, for The Decadente looks like a fancy and hip eatery.
Despite the fancy look at first sight, The Decadente is the place to be for both locals and travellers, young, hip and informal. Nothing too posh, the place has a warm and fashionable retro design.
Don’t fear the prices, the menu is very affordable, no more than 15 euros for a main dish at dinner.
The food is simply amazing. Chef Dinis Coreia dedicates a seasonal menu to the modern Portuguese kitchen. Locally produced ingredients are the base of traditional dishes with a surprising twist. I had dinner there, and it was delicious! Apart from that, the waiters and staff are all very friendly and happy to help you choose the best from their menu. Truly a decadent night out for a great price.
The Decadente is open for brunch, lunch, afternoon drinks (great terrace in the back!) and dinner. It might get busy, so book ahead or wait for your table at the bar in the front.
