Taranna is one of the many trendy café’s in the upcoming Sant Antoni neighbourhood in Barcelona.
Sant Antoni is hot and happening, loved by locals and a great neighbourhood to discover if you want to go off the beaten path of tourism. Calle Parlement is by far the most popular street, bursting with many cool places for brunch, afternoon drinks or a lovely dinner.
Taranna is such a place, located on a typical Barcelona street corner with a small terrace. It caught my eye the first time because I love those bars with open window seats allowing you to both take in the life on the street and the vibe going on inside the bar.
It is a small bar but due to the big windows it looks spacious and bright. The trendy vintage design suits the upcoming fashionable style of the neighbourhood without being pretentious. Because after all, Taranna is a normal bar for a great cup of coffee or a nice lunch.
The menu offers you no nonsense food, but nevertheless very tasty! You can choose from the daily menu, serving for example typical Catalan bread with Iberian ham or a variety of quiches. If you have a sweet tooth – like me – you should save some space for the home made cakes displayed on the counter, they are amazing! The staff is very friendly and happy to help you choose from the many delicious options they have on offer that day.
