Martkhalle Neun

Markthalle Neun in Berlin has a lot more to offer than a typical local market hall

Who doesn’t like to visit a local market during a holiday? It is the perfect way to blend in with the local culture. But Markthalle Neun is so much more than a local market hall to do the groceries. Located in the buzzing area of Kreuzberg this is the place to be for food lovers in Berlin!

The market hall is open every day and has a couple of permanent stalls, or shops if you will, that provide the best food to you daily. Get some amazing Italian bread from bakery Sironi, a piece of steak for your grill at the impressive butcher stand of Kumpel & Keule or a nice craft beer at Heidenpeters.  And – whenever you visit – try my absolute favourite here; the pulled pork sandwich of Big Stuffed Smoked  BBQ. Best I ever had!

Tuesday, Friday and Saturday are for the more traditional ‘week market’ but the great thing that makes Markthalle Neun special is their wide offer of food events.
Every week on Thursday night you can go and visit Street Food Thursday, where the market hall fills up with additional food stands bringing you high quality and delicious street food in a cool, trendy and urban ambiance. Get some food and a drink ‘to go’  find a seat at one of the many tables or stairs and join the crowd for this vibrant food experience! Don’t miss it, it is a lively and unique place and I can say the most fun street food market I have been to.

Apart from that every 3rd Sunday of the month the hall is dedicated to a breakfast market and once every quarter the Naschmarket dedicated to sweet and savoury snacks! A place full of events that will definitely satisfy  the foodie in you!
