Lukumás brings sweet doughnuts and savoury bagels to Raval in Barcelona!
I discovered Lumkumás on an evening stroll through Raval and I knew I had to go back during day time. I have a sweet tooth and this little café looked like it had delicious sweets to offer.
Lukumás is the Greek word for doughnut. The family of the owner used to make and sell their own doughnuts in Greece and now the tradition has been brought to Barcelona.
There are many colourful and delicious options to choose from. Wether you like a plain old basic one or the ones filled with dulce de leech or cream cheese… All of them are amazing, believe me I have tried! They are prepared fresh every day and with high quality ingredients. You can tell, this is not a regular doughnut, but one made with love and creativity as the flavours are sometimes surprising! Not a sweet tooth like me? They recently also expanded to a more savoury option with a hole in it; the bagel! There’s not so many good bagel places in town so if you love them; pass by Lukumas!
The café is very small but the interior design is fresh and bright, giving you a few spots to sit down and enjoy your doughnut with a coffee. But you could also opt for the take-away option of course. They are located in both Gracia and Raval. I love the Raval location as that neighbourhood is more and more upcoming with cute little places like this. Have a look and good luck with making a decision between all that deliciousness!
